Although technically not a Caterpillar repilica both models were painted with Caterpillar yellow so they get included on this page. These models started out as Trainscapes items that were heavily modified with many extra details. Including walkways, ladning gear, control boxes, cables, stairways just to name a few. The first two photos are the stock versions the remaining photos show the final conversion models I made for my collection.

Caterpillar 854G Wheel Dozer

This is a 1/87th or HO scale replica of a Caterpillar 854G Wheel Dozer. This all brass model features working blade arms and articulation. Originally desinged as an after market item by Tiger in Australia and sold as a (790G) Tiger combined a Caterpillar 992G with a hardnose and dozer blade. Caterpillar eventually purchased the company and added the machine to the Caterpillar lineup and it was designated the 854G.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale replica of a Ford F-350 Dually with fuel tank and a Caterpillar D9T Bulldozer. This is a customized River Point Station plastic model of a Ford F-350 Dually pickup with a fuel tank added to the bed. The diecast Norscto D9T Bulldozer had the fuel cap opened up to receive the fuel dispenser. The truck represents a owner operator support vehicle.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale replica of a Caterpillar compact equipment delivery vehicle..This is a River Point Station plastic Ford F-350 Dually pickup with a fifth wheel added to the bed to receive the gooseneck trailer connection. The trailer was converted from Custom Finishes 18T flat bed trailer. The Dozer was a custom decaled Norscot plastic Caterpillar D3G mode used as a load.

Caterpillar 325L Excavator with New Replacement Undercarriage

When Classic Construction Models (CCM) produced the now famous 12pc. set of Classic Caterpillar all brass models in 1/87th scale the first model released was the 325L Excavator. The main drawback to this model was the fixed track undercarriage.The original is shown on the left side. This unique item made by CCM exclusively for Zycon Models was used to upgrade this model. Undercarriage features ultra thin individual 33" inch track shoes with a highly detailed undercarriage and sprung tensioner.

Caterpillar 777D/Klein K-1800 Water Truck

This is a 1/87th or HO scale replica of a Caterpillar 777D Chassis with a Klein K-1800 Water Sprayer Bed. This conversion model was produced exclusively for Zycon Models by Classic Cosntruction Models. Features a detailed Klein 18000 gallon water tank mounted on the Caterpillar 777D off highway truck. These types of vehicles are used for dust suppresion in mining operations.

Caterpillar 777D/Klein K-500 Water Truck

This is a 1/87th or HO scale replica of a Caterpillar D250E Articulated Truck Chassis with a Klein K-500 Water Sprayer Bed. This conversion model was produced exclusively for Zycon Models by Classic Construction Models. Features a detailed Klein 5000 gallon water tank mounted on the Caterpillar D250E articulated dump truck chassis. These types of vehicles are used for dust suppresion at construction sites.

Superdetailed Caterpillar D9T Bullldozer

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a Caterpillar D9T Bulldozer that I customized. The conversion features metal tracks, see through side panels, see through front grill, engine details, hydraulic line details, wire hand grabs, lift rings, windshield wiper blades and new window material just to name a few. The Norscot is a great model as is, but it is also a great starting point for a super detailing project. I think it looks right at home next to the brass D11R from CCM.

Caterpillar 789C Mine Truck

This is a 1/87th or HO scale replica of a Caterpillar 789C Mine Truck. The Caterpillar 789C is a superdetailed model that started from a D&K generic 180 Ton mine truck kit. Using donor parts from Norscot, Kibri, CCM and OHS plus a lot of scratchbuilding materials this is the final result.
