Solder was used for air line under Kadee coupler as it will hold position but remains flexible. Freight trucks are Walthers with Percision springs and IMR metal wheel sets.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of the ACL 135-Ton Covered Hopper #50000 that has been custom painted and decorated for the last scheme it wore before being retired by CSX it's last revenue owner. The basic paint scheme remained the same from the ACL final paint job but Seaboard Coastline renumbered it SBD 200000. The prototype car was the largest hopper car ever produced. OMI never made this version I researched it and custom painted and decorated the model for this scheme. The model was made by Overland Models and is OMI #3260. The model is made from brass.

Customized Walthers kit with a lot of attention paid to the brake rigging. The standard car weight that came with the kit was not used and custom weights were made so the interior well structure would remain open like the prototype. This is an auction for a 1/87th or HO scale model of a 4 bay ACF covered hopper made from combining 2 Intermountain kits. Outlets represent a pneumatic unloading. The model is decorated for TLCX Lexan. The model is made primarily from plastic with some brass detail parts. The car was custom built, painted and decorated. Features see through walkways, brake details, wire hand grabs were appropriate, uncoupler bars and free rolling sprung trucks. Air brake hose line is a painted section of solder that remains flexible but will hold a position so that technically you can mate it with a similar car that has the same feature. I use tweezers to adjust it. 

Trailer Train - HTTX 97432 Flat Car w/Caterpillar 325L Excavator Load

Custom built resin car from Roller Bearing Models which represents the ACF version of this type of flat car which differs only slightly from the IMR Pullman Standard version. Load is a Classic Contsruction Models Caterpillar 325L Excavator brass model. Blocking and chain tie downs are similar to Caterpiller load restraint standards for shipping out of the Peroria IL plant. Freight trucks are Walthers with Percision springs and IMR metal wheel sets.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a 6 bay ACF 53' cylindrical covered hopper from a Roller Bearing Models kit.  The model is made primarily from resin, white metail  with some brass detail parts.  The car was custom built discarding many of the original RBM details such as the end porches and screen walkway material. This was replaced with many parts from the Intermountain Railway Canadian CVD Hopper parts to upgrade the model including the photo etch walkways. Model was custom painted and decorated for BN Car #443024. A common practice for BN at the time this model was built was to have the car number painted in white on the trucks and this too was replicated.  The model features see through walkways, brake details, wire hand grabs were appropriate, uncoupler bars and free rolling sprung trucks.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a GSC 54' flat car with an EMD cab load. This is a Walthers plastic model kit that has been built up.  The model is made primarily from plastic, white metal  with some brass detail parts.  The car was custom built with many extra details, painted and decorated. Features laser cut wood floors, a special EMD cab load representing a replacement cab for a modern era EMD SD series locomotive. A friend of mine had passed on a photo to me of the real freight car which I used as a guide. The tarp material is Kleenex tissue that has been glued directly to the plastic cab using liquid cement and then painted.  I utilized this idea for many years on my Roco military vehicles as it made for such a convincing tarp material.  Model has metal hand grabs were appropriate, underbody brake details, uncoupler bars and free rolling sprung trucks. Air brake hose line is a painted section of solder that remains flexible but will hold a position so that technically you can mate it with a similar car that has the same feature. I use tweezers to adjust it. 

Grand Trunk RR - GTW 320481 Flatcar with Thrall Autorack Car

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a Thrall Bi-Level Enclosed Auto Rack with high end doors. The model has been custom painted for Grand Trunk Railroad. This represents a car that the railroad owns both the rack and the flat car portion. Interior of the car has been painted white which is protypical. Brass trucks have been replaced with free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets. Model has been lightly weathered. The model is made from brass and was produced by Overland Models OMI #1323.

Trailer Train - -TTUX 135674 "Front Runner" TOFC Car

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a Trailer Train "Front Runner" TOFC car. This is a Front Range car kit that was completely rebuilt including all brake details and moldable weight used where ever possible, photo etch walkways etc. Front spring details were scratchbuilt. The hitch was scratchbuilt. Decals from Islington Station were used to decorate the car. The car weighs about the same as the OMI brass version. Air brake hose line is a painted section of solder that remains flexible but will hold a position so that technically you can mate it with a similar car that has the same feature. I use tweezers to adjust it.

Interior of the car has been painted white which is protypical. This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a Bethlehem Steel F-39 76' flat car. Trailer Train aquired a group of these cars from PRR, removed the hitch and container assemblies and utilized them for light agricultural, military, machinery etc loads. The model was produced by Overland Models Inc. and is item #3033. The model has been customized with a real wook deck and painted for  TTX as car number ATTX-470926.  Brass trucks have been replaced with free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets. Model has been lightly weathered.   The model is made from brass was produced by Overland Models OMI #3033..

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a 50' Gondola from Athearn that has been customized.  The model is made primarily from plastic with some brass detail parts.  The car was custom built with many extra details, painted and decorated. Item is decorated for B&O car Number  366280 and center placard panel added for the Chessie graphic. Features see through walkways, wire hand grabs were appropriate, uncoupler bars, simulated steel load with (which is removable) and free rolling sprung trucks. Underbody brake detail is stock Athearn detailing.

Southern Pacific RR - SP 340699 Greenville Gondola Car

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a Greenville 70 Ton Gondola. The model was factory painted for Southern Pacific Railway. Brass trucks have been replaced with free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets. The model is made from brass by Pecos River Brass models.. The model comes with Kadee couplers but it should be noted that the uncoupler pin has been clipped off. If you desire to have the ability for magnetic uncoupling you will need to replace this part.

The model  was a very limited production item that has long been out of production. The model is made from brass by Scott's Brass Models and is item #980501.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of an ACF Cylindrical Covered Hopper with open porch. The model has been custom painted for MP #709725 post UP Merger. I custom painted and weathered to match a car I photographed in Little Rock AR on one of my trips. I added a few minor details to the car that OMI had omitted from the factory model.   Brass trucks have been replaced with free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets. Model has received medium weathering.  The model is made from brass and was produced by Overland Models Inc. and is OMI item #3215. This car has an air line at the coupler made from painted solder. It remains flexible moved into a position with tweezers.

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a Thrall Bi-Level Enclosed Auto Rack with low end doors. The model has been custom painted for Grand Trunk Railroad rack and Trailer Train #940175 flat car. To accomadate oversize vehicles some racks have there tops removed and this model has been modified to represent this. Brass trucks have been replaced with free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets. Model has been lightly weathered.  The original label on the box is on the other end but references a roof which this model no longer has. The model is made from brass and was produced by Overlan Models and is OMI #3120. 

GATX - GATX 83605 Tank Car

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a a 1/87th or HO scale model of a GATX Methylacetylene Propadiene tank car. The model is decorated for  GATX car #83605.  The car is made from plastic and was handbuilt by Dan Goins. Prior to the Walthers cars being available this car was built from splicing three MDC 50' tank car models together. All walkways are see through. Model features brake,airline and sill details. Model includes free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets. 

KCS / Kansas City Southern RR - 797205 Gondola Car

This is a 1/87th or HO scale model of a 1/87th or HO scale model of a 54' Gondola with scrap metal load. The model is decorated for  KCS/Kansas City Southern RR Car # 797205. This started out as an MDC model kit that has been heavily modified. All molded on ladders were removed and replaced with seperate castings, underbody brake detailing was added. On this type of car the brake rod goes under the wheel axle and this to was replicated. It stops short of connecting to the truck to allow for removal of wheel set. Foam pad was mounted to inside of car and on top of that was placed remanents of a rusted out cookie sheet that was broken up to represent a scrap metal load. Car is heavily weathered. Kit trucks were disgarded and upgraded to free rolling sprung trucks with metal wheel sets.
